I’ve shied away from creating the stereotypical “intro blog post.” I wasn’t quite sure what would go here apart from the short bio on my homepage. So, we are going to make this short and sweet. My name is Richelle. I’ve been traveling since I was a few months old. Since I can remember, I’ve loved to explore different places, enjoy the company of people with different backgrounds, and try as many new foods as my picky appetite allows.
I rekindled my passion for exploring after I spent months studying abroad in Greece. It opened up a whole new world for me. It brought about my love for solo trips and showed me how important travel is for my mental well-being.
Throughout the past few years, I have balanced my 9-5 while making sure I travel at least six times a year. Although I’m not sure what the future holds, I have every intention to maintain the same “every other month” schedule. The pandemic has changed this for me, of course, but I, like everyone else, am in the process of adjusting to the new normal.
As much as this blog is to share my experiences with others, it is also for myself. I have terrible short-term memory. When people ask me what I have done in each country or the areas I’ve visited, I sometimes can’t even recall. I tend to blur my experiences together then rely on my Instagram highlights (such a millennial, I know) to jog my memory. I journal about most of the experiences I’ve had but flipping through pages to find what I’m looking for, is not it.
I have a ton planned for this blog. I will be creating a series for each trip from here on out. Included will be an itinerary with experiences, reviews, and hacks. Although I will not be backtracking for past travels, my experiences are going to be shared.
Every time I travel, I receive numerous questions about my excursions and whereabouts. Itinerant’s Narrative is a place where questions get answered. More importantly, I hope that IN inspires people to get out there and emphasizes the importance of travel.
